Ohio Minority Supplier Development Council

OUR INITIATIVES

MBE EXECUTIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM

Presented by Ohio MSDC and The Ohio State University Fisher School of Business

OVERVIEW

The Ohio Minority Supplier Development Council has a 45 year legacy of helping corporations establish strong supplier diversity programs and for being an advocate for minority businesses, which makes Ohio MSDC uniquely qualified to partner with the Ohio State University Fisher School of Business. Together this program offers MBEs a new opportunity in training and development. As part of a national network dedicated to being a strong voice for supplier diversity, Ohio MSDC has a track record of developing MBEs to meet the needs of buying organizations. Partnering with a world-class university is a continuation of the commitment to growing minority businesses that in turn, have a quantified impact on the state of Ohio and the country.

One measure of success is that the program aligns with Ohio MSDC’s goals and objectives:

  • Create and deliver development opportunities for the enhancement of MBEs to help MBEs be stronger suppliers to corporate partners
  • Help facilitate the employment and economic development of minority communities.

BENEFITS

Focusing on operational excellence and success makes this program unique in the MBE education and development space when compared to other national executive education programs.
Program will:

  • Help participants become stronger suppliers to corporations
  • Guide them through course work that facilitates in-depth thinking about operational excellence and project readiness
  • Assist participants in addressing a specific challenge or opportunity facing their business

MBEs will be required to identify a business challenge and/or opportunity that will help move their business forward. The MBE Executive Education program will provide classes and assistance in addressing the business challenge and/or opportunity. These wrap around services are distinctively different when compared with any other program currently offered for MBEs. A certificate will be given to the MBEs who successfully attend and complete the program during an end of program reception.
